Nutrition

Picture
When we talk about nutrition, I like to start with the question of why is it important.

What we eat and drink provides the building blocks for our bodies. To grow, to repair. And the fuel to run day to day.

Another of my favorite questions, "Can we get everything we need out of the food that we eat?"

To which, I will almost always reply, NO!

Why? Lots of reasons.
  • Over processed foods
  • Depleted grounds
  • Overuse of Chemicals to stimulate growth, prevent disease and to alter different cycles.
  • Genetic Modifications to so many different plants

So, what are we supposed to do?
First, eat as healthy as you can.
  • Lots of Fresh Fruits and Veggies.
  • Whole grains.
  • Healthy Proteins.
  • Healthy Fats
  • WAY less sugars. (especially the more processed sugars, which are the ones that I like.)
Once we have a good base, it is time to add in QUALITY Supplements. (Notice that these are called supplements, not replacements. You must have a good diet for the supplements, ANY supplements to function best.)
Most people will need a basic multi-vitamin. Again, this is because most of our food does not have the nutrition that it used to have. CLICK HERE to see some of the supplements that I recommend and why.

One weird fact, it is interesting to me how often I have seen supplements on x-rays. And if I can see a pill on an x-ray, how likely is it to have broken down and be absorbed by the body? Not likely. All the supplements in the world do nothing for you if it does not get absorbed into the cells.

And of course, you have to drink water. (More info coming soon)
